A Plan for Growing Our Party and libertarianism in General

In order to grow our party and libertarian ideas in general I believe we must do outreach. With the election coming to an end we must turn ourselves into an educational organization. This will be as or more effect as running in elections. Let’s not lay down the Boston Tea Party after November 4th, let’s continue to grow and the spread the message of freedom.

What we must do is something the Libertarian Party never could do correctly: outreach. All the Libertarian Party has done is pander for votes of disaffect conservatives, most being white males. We must reach out to every political ideology, ethnic group, gender, sexuality, religious belief, social-economic status and all other indefinable self-identities. We must tell people that freedom works, but in a way they can understand it. We are all different, that’s what individualism is, so we all must be reached in own way.

The only libertarian organization to do this to any degree of efficiency is Outright Libertarians, a gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender internal party lobbying and outreach organization. We must organize ourselves from the bottom to the top. Who knows best about your type of people in your own neighborhood than yourself?

Don’t get me wrong I still think we need a national organization to set long term goal and to provide an example of an effective libertarian example. But the national organization needs not to be the place activist look to get there “orders” from. The national should help to create outreach martial and guides on how to approach different people.

This idea is still in development but this is what I plan on doing after the election so I should have more to add soon. I do not know if this is something where the national committee or some other “official” organization would help to organize, like an “Outreach Department” or be a part of or if this would be an autonomous organization, much like Outright Libertarians. I also do not know if this organization would be best as one organization or several like having separate leftist outreach and conservative outreach groups.

What we must remember is that every single American is a possible libertarian. We have all came from different pasts and backgrounds but it has lead us all to this one place. Freedom is a wonderful thing, it has the ability to bring people together and that’s what the goal of the outreach organization(s) should be: to talk to people in their own special way to bring them together with other liberty loving Americans.
